Stephenville has bright plans for the Fourth

Independence day is expected to have a high of 92 degrees, which is welcoming to beat the heat that North Texas has experienced in the past years. This ‘cold front’ is especially welcomed by the City of Stephenville, as they have planed an entire day of fun for the community.

Starting at 9:30 on the morning of the Fourth, there will be a parade beginning at Tarleton Memorial Stadium and ending at the cross of Washing and Graham Streets.

Next, the town has the Christian Classics Cruisers Car Club show that is free to the public. The car show will welcome many different types of cars for enthusiasts to check out. The show runs from noon until 4 p.m. Also, 80% of the proceeds will go to the Cross Timbers Pregnancy Care.

Starting at 1 p.m. Splashville will be open for visitors. Children over three years old are $5, children under two years old are free and senior citizens are $3 to get in the park. At 7 p.m., the park will close for an hour and reopen at 8 p.m. for people to watch the fireworks there.

Also, there will be a concert in the park at the Birdsong Amphitheater. The lineup for the concert is Larry Joe Taylor, Davin James, and Max Stalling. The concert is free and will start at 6 that evening. Finally, to end the day is a firework show that will start at 10 p.m. The firework show is free to the public.

Then on July 6, there will be the Firecracker 100 Bike Ride & Race at Tarleton State University’s Wisdom Gym beginning at 8 a.m.

The entry fee is $35 or free to military men and women with proof of military service. Family groups of four or more is $30 each.
