TSU Spanish trip documentary presentation

In 2012, a group of Tarleton students studied in Spain and France, all while filming a documentary of their time abroad titled ‘Tarleton Goes Basque.’ On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m., a free presentation of the film will be held in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater.

The 70-minute film summarizes the students’ immersion in a culture unlike their own and their time spent studying the Spanish language. The film was put together through the efforts and supervision of Tarleton professors and the students participating. One of these professors,  Dr. Robert Anderson, shared more information on the project and the involvement of students:

“Shot entirely in Northern Spain and Southern France in 2012, ‘TARLETON GOES BASQUE’ is a scenic look at Tarleton Study Abroad students learning Spanish.  The original acoustic guitar score by three Fine Arts music majors and the editing by two Comm Studies majors are highlights of the production.”

Dr. Anderson has already presented the film to his video production classes this year, but the film will be presented in its entirety for student body and faculty on Valentine’s Day. Everyone is welcome to bring a date and enjoy the film ‘Tarleton Goes Basque.’
