The Tarleton State University Police Department has announced the dates for the Rape, Aggression, and Defense classes for Fall 2016.

The RAD classes are to help women defend themselves against aggressors, & perpetrators when alone in the event of an attack.

The course is aimed to educate, raise awareness, prevent and reduce the likelihood of this happening, as well as teach several different kinds of self-defense.

“I’ve been here for 15 years; we’ve been teaching the RAD program since then and its just something that, a way we try to give back to the women of the community, not just Tarleton, just all women. Kristie Bint, Tarleton Police Detective said.

Not only is it a way to self defense but physical techniques and knowledge as well and resources to use so that nothing happens to any of them to prevent that. That’s what all that is.”

Kristie Bint will be teaching the course along with Sergeant Amanda Miller from the Tarleton Police Department.

The RAD classes will take place September 12, 14, and 19 and 20 from 6-9 p.m. in the Wisdom Gym. For more information, contact Kristie Bint at 254-968-9565 or email [email protected]. However, seating is limited so register soon.
