The Twisted J is the local do-it-all bar and venue located in  Stephenville, Texas. 

Fondly known by the locals as “the Twist,” it’s home to a stage walked upon by many country music artists. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can find the wooden dance floor packed with college goers and individuals alike.

The months of January and February are jam packed with the sounds of Texas artists from all over. 

“I’m most looking forward to Flatland Cavalry this weekend! I’ve been wanting to see them for so long but haven’t had the chance to until now,” Student Caroline Henson stated. 

Henson additionally elaborated that in addition to seeing Flatland Cavalry, she plans to see Mike and Kolby Cooper when they take stage at the Twist. 

If you are unfamiliar with Flatland Cavalry, they are from Lubbock, Texas and a few of their top songs on Spotify include, “A Life Where We Work Out,” “Tall City Blues,” and “February Snow.” Best known for their Americana country sound, they are a staple for your Texas country music playlist.   

Mike Ryan is a country singer-songwriter from San Antonio, Texas and has been putting out albums since 2010. His most popular songs include “Damn Good Goodbye,” “Can Down,” and “Bad Reputation.” Tickets for Mike Ryan are currently on sale and priced at $15 for online early bird admission and $20 at the door. He will take the stage on Feb. 12, 2022.

Kolby Cooper rounds out the trio of popular artists visiting the stage on Feb. 25. At just 22-years-old, he has racked up millions of streams on Spotify and gotten his fair share of radio waves, even on popular Texas radio stations like 99.5 FM. His hit song “A Boy From Anderson County” has over 1 million streams on Spotify. Tickets to his show are on sale on the Twisted J’s website for $15 if you buy your tickets early online and $20 at the door.
