Pardon our Progress: Autry Building Renovations
Tarleton’s Agriculture building is being renovated
The current agriculture building (the Autry building), was completed in 1951. The building underwent its first renovation in the late 1970’s to cover a carving of a steer located in the main entrance.
In 1998, the building was dedicated to Dr. Joe W. Autry, who was a former instructor and head of the agriculture department.
In order to update and modernize the Autry agriculture building, Dr. Hurley authorized a renovation that began late during the fall semester of 2021 and is anticipated to continue into the summer.
This renovation is focused on the hallways, particularly the main hallway on the first floor, and the auditorium (room 113). Hallway improvements consist of new modernized flooring, lighting, and the addition of digital signage. The auditorium’s renovation consists of new carpet and seating. This renovation will provide a more inviting, comfortable, and functional space for current and prospective students.
