Tarleton implements new protocols to tackle COVID

Tarleton takes action alongside the COVID-19 Protocol

As a university, we have come a long way since the first report of COVID-19 cases in America. . We started in an unknown territory that led us to going completely online during the spring semester of 2020, and leaving the campus we love while the world tried to figure out how to make it in the pandemic.

Soon after, students returned to hybrid style class in the fall semester of 2021, bringing us to the semester we are in. Tarleton State has  officially returned to face-to-face classes, no room occupancy level or restrictions, and the student body is  finally back as a whole.

Now that we are starting our Spring 2022 semester, the university has created an environment that has allowed students to flourish safely.

Tarleton State University has created a roadmap for faculty and staff to be able to get the complete Tarleton experience. This roadmap includes vaccine information, personal responsibilities, such as simple behaviors that will keep us safe, an explanation of COVID-19, isolation guidance, COVID-19 testing, and campus event approvals. This roadmap of information can all be found on web.tarleton.edu/roadmap/ on the Tarleton State website.

As of December 2, 2021, Tarleton State University has provided COVID-19 vaccination clinics, and allowed for the members of the community to be able to participate. It is open to individuals who have had their first dose of Pfizer and are in need of their second dose. This allowed students with busy schedules to continue their vaccination process and stay safe in the Tarleton community.

Alongside that, the university just recently started a booster and COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Jan. 18. This was available to all students and employees and allowed them to either finish their vaccination with the second dose or receive a booster shot. The only  requirement that needed to be met for this was a copy of your vaccination card. Students and faculty that participated in this clinic were entered into a drawing at the Texans Campus Store for $50, $1150, and $250 vouchers.

As we entered the time of the unknown and constant change, Tarleton remained persistent. They continued to give answers and give roadmaps to help guide students and faculty through the unknown. They have given us the opportunity to continue with schooling, giving us face-to-face and hybrid options, all while giving us the resources to continue to vaccinate and have clinics to give the students their options. Keep on the lookout for clinics and new protocols, and always know that the Tarleton family is here for each of their students and faculty.
