TexAnns finish regular season undefeated on home court

The Tarleton State University women’s volleyball team finished out the regular season undefeated on their home court after a 3-1 win over Texas A&M Kingsville on Saturday, Nov. 7. The TexAnns finished the regular season with a home record of 11-0.

Three TexAnns finished the game with double-digit kills. Hailey Roberts and Kenya Alexander each had 13 and Xzache Mathis added 12. Roberts and Alexander had a double-double with 12 digs and 11 blocks, respectively.

Chandler Gow was able to assist on 35 of the 49 total kills for the team, and managed four digs, two kills, and two blocks of her own. Macie Walker had six assists.

On the defensive side, Ayssa Garcia led the team with 15 digs. Kelsey Raglin had five kills and one block, while Meg Umbel added three kills and one block. Adrianna Knutson was able to earn six digs of her own to assist with the win.

The first set ended in a 25-11 victory for the TexAnns, while set two ended at 25-11. The two teams went back and forth the first 10 points of the match before a 3-0 TexAnn run gave the ladies an 11-8 lead. Kingsville got within one point of the TexAnns at 14-13, but a 6-1 run gave Tarleton the spark they needed to finish out the second match with a win.

Set three gave the TexAnns a run for their money with a 21-25 loss to Kingsville. Set four finished the game with a 25-18 win.

Tarleton ends the regular season with a record of 23-5 and a No. 2 ranking in the South Central region. The next game for the TexAnns is set for Friday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. in Wichita Falls, TexAnns against Midwestern State University. They are also set for another game on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. to face Cameron University.
