Tonight, the Tarleton State University Kinesiology Department will be hosting a free Distinguished Scholar Series and Professional Development Workshop (Expo Center). Among the 800 expected attendees are college students, youth sports teams, and community members. Kinesiology majors attending will be able to view a wide range of career options.

The workshop will serve as a traditional Expo Center for the exhibitors/sponsors to display their organizations, services, and products. Those 57 exhibitors/sponsors will include several universities specializing in graduate Allied Health Programs, such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, and Physician Assistant. The universities attending include Texas Tech Health Science Center, Parker University, Abilene Christian University, Angelo State University, and University of St. Augustine.

Professional organizations (Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, TAHPERD, International Sports Science Association, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes), nutritional companies (AdvoCare, Gatorade, NOG Protein, and Plexus), fitness organizations (Spartan Races, Technogym, BSN Sports, Revivial Bootcamp, USTA, and Equibrand/Clasic Rope), and more will also be attending.

Following the Expo will be motivational speaker Brian Cain. Cain is known for his “fired up” attitude and motivational skills. He has devoted his time to studying, modeling, and teaching the best performance strategies of the most successful people in the world. He has served as the Mental Conditioning Coach for world, Olympic, national, and state champions.

The first 800 to attend the Expo will receive a free SWAG bag. Also, the first 75 coaches who bring 10 or more athletes, youth or adult, will receive a free long-sleeve t-shirt.

The Expo will be held in the volleyball gym inside Wisdom Gym from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
