TexAnns finish second at LSC Championship

The TexAnns finished second overall at the Lone Star Conference Championships in New Mexico on Oct. 26. Lindsey Hinton and Aly Coughlin helped by finishing and second overall in the women’s 6k race.

Coughlin received LSC Newcomer of the Year, and Audrey Shelton was named LSC Freshman of the Year. Coughlin, Shelton, Hinton, and Katelin Huckabee each received all-conference honors.

Hinton finished with a time of 22:14.40, and Coughlin finished with a time of 22:22.10. Their dominating times helped these TexAnn runners finish first and second in the race.

Shelton (23:03.10) came in 10th, and Huckabee (23:25.10) finished 12th, and Tylo Farrar came in 33rd place with the next fastest TexAnn time of 25:24.50.

Finishing out the race for the TexAnns were Lauren Finley with a time of 25:39.00 and Lillianna Castaneda with a time of 26:08.70.

For the Texans, who finished fifth, Dylan Willet was the only runner to receive all-conference honors. Willet finished in the top 15 with a time of 26:18.70.

James Bodnar (26:42.30) finished close to Willet with 19th place. Chase Rathke was next with a time of 27:01.30 in 25th place, and James Polasek with a time of 27:52.40 in 33rd place.

Finishing it out for the Texans were Ben Haynes (28:39.90) in 42nd place, Tye Doty (29:23.80) in 49th place, and Elliot Marshall (29:38.80) in 50th place.

Tarleton will head to Canyon in two weeks to compete in the NCAA Regional Championships on Nov. 9.
