Pizza Pro in Dublin is worthwhile experience

If one lives in Stephenville, they may pass four or more other pizza restaurants on the way to Pizza Pro in Dublin, Texas, but it is highly worth the few extra miles. Pizza Pro offers a unique pizza dining experience for the family.  There are a variety of pizza styles to choose from, however I brought my kids with me, which limits me to pepperoni and cheese.  However, I left completely satisfied with my experience there.

Pizza Pro is located just a little off of the main street through Dublin, and provides a relaxed, secluded country atmosphere. The inside seating area is actually very tiny; there are only about 4 tables to sit at. However, outside is a large covered patio with ample seating, surrounded by a lot of grass and trees. There is also a stage offset a few yards, which suggests the possibility of evening entertainment at times, however I didn’t see any information about it.

As far as friendly service goes, it doesn’t get any friendlier than this. The woman who took my order talked to me as if I was her neighbor.  The kitchen is completely visible, and the cook even had a friendly smile on her face as well.

The pizza itself was delicious. Before visiting here, my favorite pizza crust was at The Pizza Place in Stephenville, however the crust at Pizza Pro beats them out easily. It was a thinner crust, and perfectly cooked. At first glance, I was concerned that the cheese wouldn’t be good because there was a lot of grease sitting on top of the cheese, which is a sign of cheap cheese, and I mopped some of it off with a paper towel. However, the cheese tasted better than I expected.  In fact, it turned out to be the best pizza I have had in the Stephenville/Dublin area. If a visitor so chooses, Pizza Pro also offers hamburgers, which I heard good things about, but did not try for myself.

A huge plus came from the drink selection.  Pizza Pro features all Dublin Bottling Works sodas on tap, and includes free refills, which I was very surprised about. A second bonus was the snow cone stand that was by the patio, which is part of the restaurant, so it is open whenever Pizza Pro is open.

Overall, I was quite pleasantly surprised with the quality, service, and atmosphere of Pizza Pro.  I look forward to returning to try other varieties of their pizza to see if they hold up to my first experience.
