Pickwick leads No. 4 TexAnn golf to victory at Doc Housewright Invitational

 

Jessica Pickwick won her second individual first place title at the Doc Housewright Invitational at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury on Tuesday. Pickwick and the fourth ranked TexAnn golf team left with first place victories.

Pickwick ended the two day meet with shooting a 146, two over par. The TexAnns shot a 307 on the first day and a 301 on the second day of the competition. The TexAnns (608) beat the third ranked St. Edward’s by six strokes, giving them their second first-place victory of the spring season and the third win of the year.

Pickwick shot a 73, one over par, both days. She had a two-stroke individual win over SEU’s Wallis Spears, who had a two-day total of 148, four over par.

This is Pickwick’s first individual title of this spring season, but it was her best 36-hole score of the year. Her previous personal best was a score of 150, which she had three different times. She has managed to finish in the top-10 in all eight golf tournaments she has been in this year.

Isabell Jimenez-Perea finished with a two-day total of 152, eight over par, and tied for third place. She shot a 76, four over par, on both days. She concludes the regular-season with three tournament titles and seven top-10 finishes.

Jacqueline Lau tied for 10th place. She shot a 78 on the first day and a 77 on the second, giving her a two day total of 155, 11 over par.

Sharon Lau scored an 81 on day one and a 75 on day two. Her two day total of 156, 12 over par, tied her for 12th place.

Sarah Fulfer was the final team scorer for the TexAnns and finished with a tie for 15th place.

Ashley Snyder ended the tournament with a tie for 42nd place and competed as an individual for the TexAnns.

The TexAnns will compete next Monday and Tuesday, April 15-16, at the Lone Star Conference Championship at Golf Club at Champions Circle in Ft. Worth.
