Angelo sweeps TexAnns

On April 13 Angelo State University came to Stephenville to take on the Tarleton State University TexAnns.

In the first game of the double header on Friday the TexAnns scored the first run of the game when Katie Welborn hit a base hit into left field to score Arianna Rodriguez.

In the second inning the TexAnns took advantage of the Angelo pitcher when Kelsey Latta and Rodriguez hit two home runs making the score 4-0.

In the top of the third inning Angelo capitalized on two TexAnn errors and scored three runs to make the score 4-3.

Angelo added more runs in the fourth when they hit a double that scored three runs. The double scored two runs then the runner who tried to score from third base was caught in a rundown, was hit in the helmet with the ball and scored on the mistake by Tarleton.

In the sixth inning Angelo hit a three-run homerun and scored another run making the score 10-4.

The TexAnns fell to Angelo 10-4.

In game two of the double header the TexAnns missed a chance to score in the bottom of the first when a double play and a runner thrown out ended the inning.
