The TexAnns started the games by getting the tip off but the Lady Greyhounds would be first to score with an opening 3. The TexAnns answered right back with Peyton Adamson scoring 2 points on their next possession. The game went smoothly for the TexAnns especially for another Shelby Adamson who scored two 3-pointers within seconds of each other making the score 26-10. The TexAnns were leading with 10 minuets left in the half.

By halftime the score was 46-22, TexAnns. The ladies came up victorious over the Greyhounds, beating them 73-48.

It was not that easy of a game for the Texans. The first play of the game was from Tralyn Harden with a clean 3-pointer. The Texans answered with a steal that led to a break away lay-up. Only three minutes in the game and it was a close 7-4 with Eastern New Mexico ahead. By the half Tarleton was still down 49-33.

The Texans were behind for the entire game until they started to come back in the second half. They came out in a press and the Greyhounds did not handle it as smoothly as the first half. With 11 minuets left in the game the score was 57-52 with Tarleton catching up. The atmosphere was intense and the fans were active in their support.

The pressure of the Texans slowed down the Greyhounds. With a minute left in play Tarleton was only one point behind. New Mexico’s Devone Davis had the ball above the key, stalling the game and hoping that the time would run out. He made an attempt for the basket and was called for an offensive charge. It was the Texans’ possession and Shedrick Haynes handed it off to Coleman Furst who drove right through the paint for an open lay-up. Tarleton took the lead for the first time in the game.

Several fouls were called and the ball went back and forth between both schools.  In the end the Texans won, 74-69 over Eastern New Mexico.
