Tarleton now offering more degrees in Forth Worth and Waco

As of Dec. 21, 2011, Dr. MacGregor M. Stephenson, the assistant commissioner of the THECB, has approved Tarleton to offer a variety of degree programs at its outer campuses located in Fort Worth and Waco.

The Southwest Metroplex Center has been able to accept the degree programs for Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sciences with either a major in Criminal Justice Admiration, Manufacturing and Industrial Management, or Information Technology. A Master of Science is available with a major in Medical Laboratory Sciences. A Bachelor of Applied Technology with a major in Health Professions Technology is provided as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Computer Information Systems or Management. A Bachelor of Science can now be obtained with a major in Accounting, a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Criminal Justice have also been added. These eleven additional degree programs bring the Fort Worth campus to a total of 37 available programs.

Degrees now available at the McLennan Community College-University Center are also the Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Computer Information Systems or Management. A Bachelor of Science can now be obtained with majors in Agricultural Services and Development, Interdisciplinary Studies or Family and Consumer Sciences. A Bachelor of Social Work is now available with a Master in Social Work, as well as a Master of Education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. A Master of Criminal Justice is also now available. With these nine additional programs the Waco campus now offers 29 degrees.

Not only are these programs face to face, but also, for the benefit students, they are offered in an online format as well as a cohort model. Dr. Karen Murray says “We are extremely pleased to have these programs officially added to our inventory of programs approved for delivery at our Southwest Metroplex Center in Fort Worth and the McLennan Community College-University Center in Waco.” These new programs show that Tarleton is now expanding past its Stephenville boarders and offering more to its Texans.
