$5000 nursing scholarship now available

The NursingHomeAbuse.net’s Awareness and Prevention Scholarship is being offered by Nursing Home Abuse for an amount of $5,000. The scholarship is for students studying nursing, social work, psychology, or healthcare administration; however any student enrolled in an accredited online post-secondary institution is able to apply.

Nursing Home Abuse is an organization that raises awareness about nursing home abuse. They strive to inform the public of the reality of nursing home abuse, help prevent the abuse and help victims of nursing home abuse. The organization was founded by the National Association to Stop Nursing Home Abuse and NGO.

The scholarship is for the academic year of 2012-2013 and will help pay for non-tuition related living expenses not covered by the recipients of financial aid. The scholarship can help pay for rent, childcare, books, school supplies, utilities gas/electric/internet connection and groceries.

In order to apply applicants must be a U.S. citizen, currently in attendance of an accredited post-secondary institution, already receiving some form of financial aid, and is considering to work with senior citizens or help stop nursing home abuse.

All applications must be emailed or postmarked by Feb. 15, 2012 to be considered, and the recipient will be selected and notified May 31, 2012. The scholarship funds will then be awarded Sep. 1, 2012.
