The seventh annual Central Texas Wedding Expo was Sunday, Feb. 26 by the Public Relations and Event Management program and Legendary Weddings and Special Events and the turnout was amazing. From different games and prizes to an exquisite fashion show, it was a breathtaking event.

At the event, games were played for the chances at winning prizes such as “Bride Trivia;” “Hot Bouquet,” which was a rendition of hot potation, but with a bouquet and “Off the Market,” where the first six people had to guess the price of the registry items. Door prizes were also given out.

Attendees could also enter raffles, where tickets were worth one dollar each to enter the door prize raffles. They had gifts such as $100 Color Bar Party from Kendra Scott, $30 gift certificate to Reynaldo’s, $25 Barefoot gift card, $70 Tarleton Bookstore gift card and more. In total, there were around 30-35 door prizes that were given out.

Also, DIY demonstrations were done at the expo such as tissue paper flowers, creating a shotgun shell boutonniere and creating a wax paper background.

Throughout the expo, a social media competition was held. To compete, you had to take a selfie at the photo booth that was there and post your picture on either Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #CTWExpo. The winner was whoever got the most shares/likes on their picture, and received two tickets to the Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival.

The grand prize, which included a honeymoon or a choice of a wedding package that was worth over $5,000, was announced at the end. The package included, a free rehearsal venue pace at The Cellar, a $500 free limo service from TLC Limo, a full wedding planning package by Legendary Weddings and Special Events, a free teeth whitening kit, free wedding bands from Dinner4Two, a one night stay at The Marriott Courtyard in Fort Worth, a private party from Premier Designs, free engagement photo shoot with Zach Frazier, “Love Story” videography package from Top5 Productions, a free cake for 100 people from Fun Kreative Kakes and a free aerial view of the wedding from Flight Reach Productions.

The fashion show started at around 4 p.m. and the theme was Country Girls Love Their Diamonds. Each model had three different dresses: two wedding dresses and a bridesmaid dress provided by Brides and Beyond in Cleburne. Some girls even got to model off Kendra Scott jewelry.

“I was a good experience,” said model, sophomore Jayci Gonzales. “I would do it again. I mean, there’s been a couple of bumps, but that’s to be expected with how big of a turnout this has been and getting all these people together hasn’t been exactly easy, but it’s been a fun experience.”
