Hearsay Wine Bar is a wine lounge and bar that is located in the Stephenville, Texas square.
In March of 2019, owner and manager of Hearsay Wine Bar, Lisa Pendleton, purchased a building in the Stephenville square that was conveniently located right next to the law office of her husband, Brady Pendleton.
The building demolition and remodeling began in May of 2019 and finished in October of 2019. The grand opening of Hearsay Wine Bar was in November of 2019.
“It is something we’ve always wanted to do,” Pendleton said. “We wanted a place that was more sophisticated.”
As stated on their website, the vision for Hearsay Wine Bar is to create an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication where friends and family can get together to enjoy a nice glass of wine and friendship.
“I have always worked for someone else, so having my own business as a woman means a lot to me,” Pendleton said.
Pendleton said that owning her own business is something that she has dreamed of doing since she was 18 years old.
“It is so great to hear my kids say, ‘mommy owns her own business’,” Pendleton said.
Hearsay Wine Bar also has two murals on each side of the building, which are probably familiar to many Tarleton students. One is the outline of Texas that says “Love from the Ville” on the inside, and the other is a heart made out of various colored dots. These murals attract many people, especially students in Stephenville, as Hearsay Wine Bar gets tagged in photos of people posing in front of them on a daily basis. As stated on their website, Hearsay Wine Bar offers both local Texas wines and wines from around the world. They also offer various domestic and trendy craft beers for the non-wine drinkers.
Hearsay Wine Bar is the place to be if you are looking to unwind and relax with a glass of wine with your friends, family and of course, designated drivers.

It has a modern yet elegant lounge inside, complete with black walls, wood accents, fluorescent lights, black-and-while framed photos and other aesthetic wall decorations. There is also a comfy and cozy patio outside, complete with string lights, greenery, outdoor decorations and weather-proof furniture. The atmosphere is a sort of modernized 1920’s. It definitely upholds its reputation as elegant and sophisticated.
Hearsay Wine Bar is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. They have monthly live music and karaoke events as well as quarterly Concerts on College Street, which is upcoming on April 3.
