Tarleton Renaissance Scholar Program

Future Teachers Making Connections

The Tarleton Renaissance Scholar Program is one of many professional organizations this campus has to offer. However, this program specifically caters to students who plan to teach at middle and high school levels once completing their degree. In order to join this program, students must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA and it is encouraged that they participate in the honors college.

One major advantage to being a member is that this will increase the probability that you will be awarded a scholarship, as well as becoming more prepared for the workforce. Networking is a large portion of the Renaissance Scholar Program and will provide students with a unique experience that they will carry into the classroom. Christian Floyd, a Tarleton State University senior, has been in this program for three years.

“Being a member has given me resources and contacts for the future in case I have questions or want to prepare for an interview,” Floyd says.

Current members encourage others in the education program to join to meet new friends who share a passion for teaching.
