Firehouse Frenzy

Welcoming Firehouse Subs to Stephenville

Stephenville, Texas is adding more options for healthy eating with its newest addition of Firehouse Subs. Firehouse Subs is a restaurant founded in 1994 based out of Jacksonville, Florida by former firefighters, Chris and Robin Sorenson, who originally planned on following in their father’s career footsteps as firemen. They decided to start a local business to provide healthy, hearty, and warm meals to people in their career fields.

The Stephenville location opened on November 25, 2022, and has already become a fan favorite with college students and locals as well. My first experience at the Stephenville location was met with warm and inviting smells before entering the building. I was then welcomed into a clean restaurant interior that had a very professional and attentive staff.

For my first meal at the firehouse, I chose something I have never had before. I went for the house specialty: the Smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket combo with a  grilled chicken salad and avocado ranch as a side. The entire process was both speedy and relatively straightforward. They were very knowledgeable about the nutritional information regarding the food offered and were patient with an indecisive Sagittarius like me. Overall, the ordering experience was patient-friendly and very helpful. They were attentive to allergies and different types of diets and had something for everyone on their vast menu with over 10 different specials and even a build-your-own combo option.

After placing my order, the food arrived at my table within 10 minutes, wrapped to perfection, and smelling absolutely delicious.

The Smokehouse Sandwich is served on french bread with brisket smoked for 16 years, melted cheddar, mayo, and sweet baby Rays barbeque sauce. The first bite was nothing short of the perfection one could expect from a family-owned restaurant. You can tell the brisket was smoked to perfection and the proportions were weighed evenly. There was no shortage of meat and vegetables and the portioning fit the price paid. The ingredients in the salad were fresh, crisp, and refreshing. The meal was excellent and I would definitely recommend the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket combo to anyone looking for a nice fulfilling meal.

Overall, between the service and food, my experience as a first-time customer at Firehouse Subs was amazing, and a 10/10. I will definitely be back to try out more of their salad and sandwich options.
