Tom Brady is well known for being the greatest and most influential quarterback of all time, making it absolutely no surprise that he will be receiving an early induction into the Patriot´s hall of fame at an unprecedented speed. On Sept. 10 during a halftime ceremony honoring Brady and his accomplishments, New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, proudly announced that Brady will be receiving his Patriot Hall of Fame induction and notorious red coat on June 12, 2024. This date was carefully and thoughtfully picked out on June 12, representing the infamous number on the back of Brady’s jersey throughout his career in the National Football League (NFL) with both the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Typically recipients are not eligible to receive their red coat until four years past their playing and coaching career in the NFL, but Brady is not just any ordinary recipient. After a successful 23 seasons as an NFL quarterback, Brady will be the first to ever New England patriot alum to receive his induction into the Patriot Hall of Fame inside Gillete stadium in front of what will likely be a filled to the brim stadium of Tom Brady fans. Commonly, Patriot Hall inductions are held outside of the hall beyond the north end of Gillete stadium. However due to the massive and dedicated fan base connected to Brady, utilizing the Gillete stadium seems to be the perfect way to thank Tom Brady for his impressive 20 years and six inspiring super bowl wins he brought to the New England Patriots franchise.
¨It means alot,¨ Brady graciously told a sidelines reporter following his halftime ceremony. When asked what it is like to now only be a spectator of a National Football League game rather than playing as quarterback, Brady cheerfully stated, “well it´s not as fun as playing, I’m sure of that. I´m so happy to kind of put that part of my life to bed and move on to other things.¨
As far as Brady one day being eligible to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Brady must first complete a five year waiting period considered mandatory for all coaches and players in the National Football League, making him ineligible to enter Canton until 2027. That is Unless the official voting committee of the Pro Football Hall of Fame decides to make a decision similar to that of the Patriots Hall of Fame.
