The Memorial Homecoming 5k

A race to remember

The Memorial Homecoming 5k, typically held during homecoming weekend, symbolizes Tarleton State University’s commitment to health, togetherness, and community involvement. This event welcomes students, alumni, faculty, staff, and local people to participate in a spectacular race that honors the Texan spirit. It is a beloved tradition that blends sports, camaraderie, and school pride among the various events surrounding this momentous occasion.

The run starts and finishes on campus at the Rec Center, offering participants scenic views of the university’s iconic landmarks and the charming Stephenville landscape. The route weaves through campus streets, inviting participants to immerse themselves in Tarleton State’s rich history and traditions.

One of the noteworthy aspects of the 5K Homecoming Run is its inclusivity. Runners of all ages and fitness levels are invited to participate. This event appeals to everyone, whether you are an experienced marathoner seeking a new challenge or a casual jogger looking to support the university. Families frequently participate together, making it a bonding event for Texans of all ages. The 5K Homecoming Run is about more than just crossing the finish line; it is about making memories that will last a lifetime. Participants frequently form teams of friends, relatives, or coworkers, transforming the event into a social gathering. On and off the track, the run promotes ties among the Tarleton State community

The race not only promotes school pride, but it serves as a fundraiser for numerous charity causes. Each year, the event organizers choose a charitable organization or cause to support and a portion of the registration fees are donated to this worthy cause. Tarleton State is dedicated to community involvement and its objective to develop well-rounded, socially responsible students to be reflected in this element of the run.
