Early this morning, several vehicles in Tarleton State University campus parking lots were burglarized, according to a crime alert from the office of University Police Lieutenant Alvin Allcon.

“[We] received a call during the early morning hours Tuesday March 3rd concerning suspicious persons entering vehicles in campus parking lots,” Allcon said in the email alert. “Officers arrived and due to witness information were able to locate the suspects and determined several vehicles had been burglarized.”

The alert noted that police would seek arrest warrants for the two suspects, who are reportedly not Tarleton students.

“[The suspects] have been identified and are university aged individuals but not our students,” Allcon added.

Included with the alert were tips to keep vehicles and belongings secure:

  • Lock your vehicles and completely close the windows
  • Don’t leave valuables in plain view (remove valuables at night: place in trunk during the day if items must be left in the vehicle)
  • Engrave expensive accessories
