Cameron Krc is a junior business management major at Tarleton State University. He graduated from Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth, TX, and is a mid distance runner for the Texan track team.

JTAC: What was the deciding factor for you to come to Tarleton?

CK: A number of different things: being close to home, affordable cost of school, quality of education and my opportunity to continue to run all played a big role in my decision.

JTAC: How long have you been running track?

CK: I have been running track since the 7th grade, making this my 9th year of competing.

JTAC: Who do you look up to the most when it comes to running?

CK: I look up to my sprint coach, Coach Hobbs, due to his ability to guide us toward competing at a higher level.

JTAC: What is a typical day like in the life of Cameron Krc?

CK: An example of a day of my life (i.e. Monday) is waking up at 6-7 a.m., eating a huge breakfast, and taking morning classes until 11 a.m.  Then, after I eat lunch, I head to track practice at 1:15. Afterward, I eat another meal and head to weights at 5 p.m. After weights, I eat dinner with my team at the dining hall and typically get home at around 7 p.m. I then spend the rest of my night doing homework, playing music, watching Netflix or hanging out with friends.

JTAC: What is your favorite part of running for a university?

CK: Not only does it allow me to represent the university that I attend, but it also allows me to network myself and establish relationships with team members of different universities.  I have met many great people through collegiate running.

JTAC: What events do you compete in?

CK: I compete mainly in the 400m dash and 4x400m relay.  However, I am branching out this year and am running the 200m dash as well.

JTAC: If you could do any other event besides what you do now, what would it be and why?

CK: I would love to run the 400m hurdles because of how intense it looks, but my awful hurdle form would probably keep that dream from happening.

JTAC: What was your first thought when you found out the relay team had been named All-American?

CK: I was in disbelief.  Every day when we came to practice we all talked about being All-Americans on the track, as if it was the highest possible feat we could accomplish.  Once we earned those respective honors it was a moment of intense happiness for finally reaching our goal at long last.  But it was also a moment of excitement because we realized that we have the potential to win a national championship, which is what we aim to do.

JTAC: What do you hope to accomplish this season?

CK: I hope to set new personal records in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay.  I want to earn All-American honors in the open 400m dash, as well as compete for a national title in the 4x400m relay.

JTAC: What are you personally doing to improve this season?

CK: I spent many more hours working on my strength in the weight room, and it is starting to show itself on the track. I also am coming to practice more fearless toward our workouts, getting in the best work that I can.

JTAC: What is your favorite TSU tradition and why?

CK: Purple Pancakes.  I love pancakes.

JTAC: If you could audition to be on any reality show, which one would it be and why?

CK: Extreme Makeover Home Edition.  Who wouldn’t love a brand new house?

JTAC: If you could have any super power, which would you pick?

CK: I’m going to avoid the cliché answer of super speed and choose the power of telekinesis.

JTAC: Do you have any weird talents?

CK: I love to play the guitar and sing in my free time.
