Here’s how the Routh trial will affect you

Downtown street closures and reserved parking will continue for the duration of the trial.

Two years after the murders of Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield, their alleged killer, Eddie Ray Routh, will stand trial in Stephenville at the Donald R. Jones Justice Center. The Stephenville Chamber of Commerce released the following information to Chamber members regarding how the trial’s presence will affect the community.

Road Closures:

Began Saturday, Feb. 7:

“[T]hrough the duration of the trial the following road closures will occur:

200 and 300 Blocks of S. Belknap from W. College to the Courthouse Annex Parking lot

100, 200 and parts of the 300 Block of W. McNeill from S. Graham to S. Belknap

These roads will be closed 24 hours a day to Vehicle and Pedestrian traffic.”

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 11:

200 and 300 Blocks of S. Graham from College to Long Streets

100 Block of East McNeill from S. Graham

These roads will be closed daily from 6 AM to 6 PM to vehicle traffic.

Parking:

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 11:

The Parking Lot in the 300 Block of S. Belknap will be reserved and not available for Public Parking.

The Parking Lot in the 100 Block of East McNeill will be for Media Parking.

Overflow parking will be the City of Stephenville City Park and City Plaza located in the 100 Block of N. Belknap. (Northwest Corner of Washington and Belknap)

“We have had several questions about how the upcoming Texas vs. Routh trial will affect the downtown area,” said July Danley of the Chamber. “…Please note that the main roads around the courthouse square will not be closed and the plaza parking lot is open.

A huge thanks goes out to all of our city and county officials for their diligence in ensuring the safety of all involved.”
