Tarleton Ambassadors

Established in 1992, the Tarleton State University Ambassadors are a student-governed organization that aims to provide personalized interaction with the Tarleton community through service. This year’s homecoming festivities brought much larger numbers than in previous years, a feat accomplished, according to Sue Goodman, Community Relations Officer for Tarleton.

““[Tarleton] President [Dr. F. Dominic] Dottavio told me that this year’s incoming freshmen, which is a class of 2200 [students], is more engaged than some classes that have come before them,” Goodman said. “We [also] promoted Silver Bugle and our t-shirt sales more than they’ve ever been before.”

This year’s Silver Bugle Hunt almost doubled in team participation, with 58 teams registered. In addition, homecoming t-shirt sales far surpassed last year’s, with 1500 shirts sold.

Ambassadors represent Tarleton at all times, on and off campus. Not only are they representatives of the community but they also are expected to know the history of Tarleton and to serve as event facilitators, ushers, spokes persons and much more.

The ambassador team is run by an Executive group of members. This year’s President is Brendan Sar, Vice President Jessica Branecky, and Treasurer Cody Goehring.

To become an Ambassador, a student must apply for membership and be classified as a full-time student, having completed at least two regular semesters at Tarleton. Applicants must also possess a cumulative GPA of 2.5, and cannot be on scholastic or disciplinary probation with the university.
