Tarleton cross-country competes in ASU Blue and Gold

Tarleton State University cross-country ran at Angelo State University Tuesday, Oct. 15,  and finished second overall in the women’s, and third overall in the men’s races.

Tarleton sophomores Dylan Willett and Katelin Huckabee brought finished first and second in their individual races, they led the Tarleton Texans and TexAnns at the ASU Blue and Gold. Katelin’s second place finish rushed the TexAnns to second place overall finish for the team. The TexAnns were only behind Dallas Baptist in overall placing and had four runners in the top 20.

For the men’s race, Willet’s first victory of the season was timed at 25:51.46, in the 8K race. Willet was followed by his fellow Texans: James Bodnar (27:02.71) in seventh place, James Polasek (27:28.52), and Ben Haynes (27:29.46) in 11th and 12th, respectively.

Rounding out the Texan runners were Luke Scribner (28:22.55) finishing in 17th, Marshal Elliot (28:44.68), Andrew Clark (28:53.24), and Mason Wrobel (29:12.02) finishing in 20th 21st and 23rd place, respectively.

The TexAnns had three runners close behind Huckabee (22:26.46) in the 6K race: Audrey Shelton with a time of 22:45.49, Tylo Farrar with a 23:44.81, and Lauren Finley with a 24:16.27 each had sixth, eighth, and 16th place finishes, respectively

Following close behind were Sarai Clendenin (24:40.68) in 22nd place, Lillianna Castaneda (25:01.93) in 25th, Tiffany Fagg (25:27.24) in 30th, and Aissa Martinez conquered 43rd place in 26:57.40

This was the final meet for the Texan and TexAnns before the LSC Chanpionship in Portales, NM, on Oct. 26.
