TexAnn golf takes second at Rock Barn Invitational

The Tarleton State University women’s golf team traveled to Conover, NC on Oct. 29-30 for the Rock Barn Invitational at Rock Barn Golf & Spa. The team finished with a two-day total of 573, 5-over par.

Isabel Jimenez-Perea managed to win her second straight individual championship with a score of 68 on day one and day two of the meet. Her final score of 136, six under par put her in first and gave her the lead spot on the all-tournament team.

Jessica Pickwick came in with an even par of 71 on the first day and a 1-under 70 on day two. With a two-day total of 141, Pickwick was awarded third individually and also awarded a spot on the all-tournament team.

The last TexAnn to finish in the top 10 was Beatriz Prados with a 2-over 73 and a 3-over 74. Her total score of 147 tied her for ninth place individually.

Sharon Lau managed to snag a spot in the top 20. Lau tied for 18th place with a final score of 10-over 152. She carded a 73 on Monday and a 79 on Tuesday.

In 32nd place was Maraea Durie with a Monday score of 82 and a Tuesday score of 76, giving her a two day total of 158, 16 over par.

Tarleton led the tournament in par-3 holes. The team had an average of 3.10 strokes on the par-3 holes. They also led in the par-5, scoring with a 6-under-par and averaging 4.85 strokes.

The TexAnns are finished with their fall season and will prepare for the spring schedule and defending their title as the Lone Star Conference champions.
