Summer commencement set for Aug. 10

On Aug. 10, approximately 445 Tarleton State University graduates will be receiving diplomas at the Wisdom Gym in the Health and Physical Education Complex on campus.

“I’m pretty excited about it being in Wisdom Gym, actually,” Landon Pool, a graduate, said. “That is were my High School ceremony was when I graduated from Stephenville High School in 1999. It feels very fitting to get to walk across the stage in there again.”

The summer commencement involves two ceremonies. First, the Colleges of Agriculture and Environmental Science and Business Administration will have their graduation ceremonies at 10:30 a.m.

At 2 p.m., the Colleges of Education, Liberal and Fine Arts, and Science and Technology will conduct their graduation ceremonies.

The president of Tarleton, Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio, will serve as presiding officer and award 338 undergraduate and 107 graduate degrees during both ceremonies.

The Master’s Hooding ceremony for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and College of Business Administration will be at 9 a.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center auditorium.

The College of Education will host hooding ceremonies in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center ballrooms at 12:30 p.m., while the College of Fine Arts and College of Science and Technology hold a joint ceremony in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.
