Kiara Wright, center for the Tarleton State University Texann basketball team and 2013 LSC Player of the Year, was arrested on Aug. 17 for purchasing and providing alcohol for a minor.

Wright was taken into custody by the Tarleton Campus Police around 12:15 a.m. at the residential facility, Texan Village Apartments, and handed over to the Erath County Sheriff’s Department. She was released a few hours later on a $1,000 bond. Wright was cleared by arrest.

The Tarleton athletic department had no comment on the arrest.
