NEW INFORMATION: A search of Wisdom Gym confirmed that the building is all clear and that a threat no longer remains. As a result, the College of Business Administration will hold their commencement ceremony in Wisdom Gym at 4:30 p.m.

Graduation was almost ruined for hundreds of Tarleton State University students, and thousands of family and friends, earlier today because of an unconfirmed bomb threat in Wisdom Gym. Fortunately, the threat did not impact the 10 a.m. ceremony.

A Code Purple was activated at 12:23 p.m., less than an hour before the second ceremony was scheduled to begin. The alert called for the evacuation of Wisdom Gym due to a “potential threat.”

The university just recently announced that today’s other two ceremonies will still be held, however, in a different location.

The College of Education and the College of Liberal and Fine Arts will hold a their ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Stadium, followed by the College of Business Administration at 4:30 p.m.

Graduating students and faculty members check in at the field house on the south end of Memorial Stadium. Parents and friends should enter through the main entrance of Memorial Stadium which is located on the east side.

The Hooding Ceremony for the College of Business Administration has been moved to 3 p.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.
