The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has approved Tarleton State University’s request to offer the bachelor of science in nursing at the Southwest Metroplex Center in Fort Worth, beginning spring 2013.

The BSN program will be offered in partnership with Tarrant County College, and classes will be offered at the Trinity River East Campus.

“The Fort Worth bachelor of science degree in nursing is designed to provide licensed registered nurses who have received an associate’s degree in nursing the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree,” said Dr. Marilyn Duran, associate professor and director for health and services professions.

Students enrolled full time in the program will be able to complete the degree in as little as two semesters provided they enter the program with required prerequisites. Required prerequisites can be completed at TCC while enrolled at Tarleton. Classes will be held on Thursdays and Fridays to accommodate working professionals. Courses will be delivered face-to-face with some online components.

“Health care is changing, and this is an excellent, cost effective opportunity to serve the high demand for BSN professionals in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex,” Duran said.
