The Department of Fine Arts and the Theater at Tarleton will present its final production of the 2012 season, String of Pearls by Michele Lowe, April 24-28, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center theater.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening, Lowe’s radiant play explores the possibilities that open up in the lives of an array of women as they come into contact with a certain strand of pearls. While the pearls are stolen, bought, bestowed, unstrung and nearly lost, four actresses play 27 characters in this deeply moving drama that has been hailed as fresh as it is funny.

Featuring seniors KayLee Grant, Camille Collins and Bee Blackman, and junior Kaylee Carlisle, the story spans 35 years and touches the lives of mothers and daughters, sisters and friends, and even husbands and wives as they weave a deeply affecting story of love and loss. String of Pearls has been described by The New York Times as a “highly satisfying, hilarious blend of sex, satire, poignancy and absurdism.”

Tickets, available beginning April 16, are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, faculty, staff and children, and $5 for Tarleton students with a valid ID. The theater box office is open Monday through Friday, from 2-6 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on evenings of performances.
