It may seem as though the 2013-2014 Tarleton State University Texan basketball season just ended, but the Texans are already gearing up for a new a season. With the 2014-2015 schedule released, the Texans are ready for a new era.

While the team has 11 returning players, they will be facing a new challenge: a season without Chuck Guy and De’Andre Upchurch. While the Texans have a great supporting cast, it can be argued that Guy and Upchurch were the biggest playmakers for the Texans, with Guy being the assist man and Upchurch hitting consistent three-pointers.

The Texans are coming off back to back Lone Star Conference titles and NCAA Division II Tournament wins. Lead by head coach Lonn Reisman for the past 23 years, the Texans are confident that they can continue the Texans’ winning tradition sans Guy and Upchurch.

For the first time since 2008, the Texans will play a Division I team in their exhibition game, traveling to take on Big 12 team Texas Christian University on Nov. 7, the previous being an exhibition against Baylor University.

The Texans open up the regular season hosting Dallas Christian University in the annual Texan Tip Off on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.
