Murrah wins second honor of the year

Stacie Murrah was named the Lone Star Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, and third time in her career.

“I’m rally excited to get the award, it’s a big honor,” Murrah said. “I feel like I have worked really hard to receive this and I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaches supporting me to achieve this goal.”

In the three away games last week, Murrah had an incredible offensive presence. The senior helped the TexAnns to get the two wins against St. Edwards and Cameron.

Murrah had a team leading 58 kills as well as a team leading hitting percentage of .291.  She complemented the performance with 10 digs and 11 block assists.

The outside hitter also made her way into the Tarleton record books Friday night against Midwestern by getting her 1,000th career kill. Murrah is now sixth place on the TexAnn all-time kill list.

Murrah is looking to help the TexAnns this Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. against Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.
