TexAnn volleyball swept by No. 6 West Texas A&M University

Tarleton fell in three straight sets Saturday afternoon against No. 6 West Texas A&M.

The TexAnns seemed to be plagued by errors committing 26 offensive attack errors compared to West Texas A&M’s 12 during the match.

In the first set, the TexAnns were able to stay up with the Lady Buffs through the opening 16 points behind only 6-10. West Texas was able to go on a 11-4 run to take a substantial 21-10 lead over the TexAnns, and continued on to take the first set 25-10.

Going into the second set, the TexAnns came back to take a small lead. A Stacie Murrah kill gave Tarleton a 3-point lead at 15-2, and Tarleton was then able to extend the lead to 18-16. The Lady Buffs then came back to go on a 9-2 run and take the second set 25-20, and put the TexAnns down 0-2 in the match.

In the third and final set of the match Tarleton fought for the first 30 points to stay even with West Texas A&M, and after a Danielle Barker kill the score was tied at 15-15.

The TexAnns couldn’t hold the Lady Buffs off, and they came back with a 10-1 run to take the set and the match. 

Murrah had a team leading 11 kills, and Jasmine Green was next adding seven of her own. Barker helped out the TexAnns with a team leading 25 assists, and Klein had 14 digs in the match.

In the TexAnns final road game of the season, they will be traveling to Commerce, TX to take on Texas A&M-Commerce this Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.

Tarleton is now 14-2 overall and 7-7 in conference games.
