Green and Raglin honored as LSC Players of the Week

The Lone Star Conference named Tarleton State University volleyball players Jazmine Green and Kelsey Raglin Co-Offensive and Co-Defensive Players of the Week for the first time in both of their Tarleton careers.

In Green’s final home game, her career-high 20 kills gave Tarleton the boost they needed to comeback against No. 17 Angelo State University after being down 0-2 in the match. Giving the TexAnns their first win over ASU since 2006.

“I feel great about being player of the week because I feel like I’ve been working hard in practice and it finally paid off in the game,” said Green.

During the week Green had a team-high hitting percentage of .328 with 27 kills, and was second on the team with 27.5 points. She also added four digs and an assisted block.

Raglin added her force on the defensive side of the net.

The sophomore had back-to-back 20-dig performances – 24 against Texas A&M Commerce and 21 against Angelo State. Raglin also went the full week without one service receiving error in 49 opportunities.

“I feel honored and very humbled to even be considered for this award. Really shows the hard work my team and I have put in,” Raglin said.

Raglin also recorded her second double-double of the season Tuesday against Angelo State, with 11 kills and 24 digs. She added 14 kills, two assists, and a service ace to her 45 digs.

Both players have been a huge part of the TexAnn volleyball team this season.
