Tarleton Volleyball Thrills in LSC Home Opener

The crowds were out and excited for the TexAnns game against Cameron Friday evening. The girls fell in the first match but didn’t let that bother them as they swept the next three.

“It’s exciting to get our first conference win at home,” said Head Volleyball Coach Mary Schindler. “I think the conference is going to be super competitive all the way across, so any one we can get is great. Especially in front of a great crowd like we had tonight. We’re excited and have to do it again tomorrow.”

Several of the players put up big numbers in the LSC opener. Jazmine Green led the team with14 kills and a hitting percentage of .370. Stacie Murrah and Katie Covell each had 12 kills and Covell also had 17 digs. Danielle Barker had 43 assists and Emily Klein added 14 digs.

The TexAnns are now 6-4 and their next game is Saturday, Sept. 21st against Midwestern State University at 2 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
