TexAnn volleyball to take on Commerce

On Oct. 5 the TexAnn volleyball team will take on the Texas A&M Commerce Lions. The action starts Friday night at 6 p.m. at Tarleton’s Wisdom Gym.

The TexAnns enter this game with a 6-2 conference record and an overall record of 11-5. After a four-game winning streak the team fell to San Angelo State University on Tuesday, Oct. 2 (3-2). The TexAnn’s only two conference loses have come from Angelo State.

Commerce bring a 4-3 conference record and a 12-4 overall record to the game. The Lions had a three game winning streak only to be stopped by Cameron University. The Lions have fallen to Texas Women’s University, West Texas A&M and Cameron University.

Overall, this should play out to be a very interesting game. This game will be the 27th time the TexAnns and Lions have played each other but the TexAnns should have the upper hand after winning both matches in 2011.

In the Lone Star Conference the TexAnns are currently standing 3rd just behind West Texas A&M University. The Angelo State Rambelles and the Texas Women’s Pioneers are both tied for 1st.
