Beauty and the Barrel Racer

Lash technician by day, Tarleton barrel racer by night

Since its grand opening, Luxury Aesthetics has added a variety of technicians as well as various services.

Located at 1917 W. Washington St, Suite 3, Luxury Aesthetics has a variety of cosmetic services for the residents of Stephenville, TX. Whether you are in need of permanent makeup, lash extensions, facial waxing, a custom spray tan or a teeth whitening session, Luxury Aesthetics has got you covered.

Kinlie Brennise, Tarleton student and active member of the Tarleton rodeo team, owns and operates Luxury Aesthetics with a five women team of licensed cosmetologists by her side.

In 2018, Brennise attended Colorado Northwestern Community College in Craig, Colorado before transferring to Weatherford College where she completed her associates degree prior to transferring to Tarleton State University. She is currently working towards earning her degree in marketing with hopes of adding a communications minor.

After transferring to Tarleton State in the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester, Brennise immediately joined the Tarleton rodeo team as a barrel racer, team roper and breakaway roper.

Brennise’s time on the rodeo team, as well as her time at Weatherford College, introduced her to the team of women that now offer a variety of services at Luxury Aesthetics.

Since opening its doors in March of 2021, the Luxury Aesthetics team has grown its staff as well as its clientele. The team currently consists of five team members with services including permanent makeup, facial waxing, lash extensions, custom spray tanning and teeth whitening.

For a full set of classic, hybrid or volume lashes, clients can book with Brennise, Grace Seargeant or Elle Eagles. For facial waxing, clients can book with Kinlie by visiting @kb.stylez on Instagram. For custom tans, clients can book with Haley Kiehne on Instagram @thebarbietan and for teeth whitening, clients can book with Sydney Arthur on Instagram @beautybysydneylayn. Luxury Aesthetics also offers permanent makeup services with Brennise or Seargeant that can be booked through the Luxury Aesthetics Instagram @luxuryaesthetics_.

Before acquiring her permanent makeup license, Brennise worked in a salon here in Stephenville just doing lashes. After realizing that the salon did not have the space she needed for the new services she was planning to offer, her search for a place of her own began.

Being a full-time student, a small business owner and an athlete can be a lot to juggle, but Brennise has managed to establish a healthy balance.

“Rodeoing, going to school, and owning a business has been tough for sure. It’s been a series of long, stressful nights and most times, it is hard to find a balance between everything. I definitely wouldn’t have it any other way. I love my job and rodeoing. Cosmetology has been the perfect job to make money while still being in school and it allows me to make my own schedule and be my own boss which allows me to be able to do it all,” Brennise stated.

Brennise does not plan to slow down anytime soon. Between running Luxury Aesthetics, being an active member of the rodeo team and being a full time student, Brennise hopes to accomplish a long list of goals for the new year.

“My goals for 2022 are to grow my team at LA, qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo and qualify for the Mountain State Circuit Finals,” Brennise said.

Accomplishing such big goals at 20-years-old can feel impossible without a strong support system. Despite being over 700 miles away from her hometown, Brennise has not walked this path alone.

“I definitely could not have done it without my parents and grandma and also the girls that work for me. It’s been an amazing journey and I am so thankful for the people in my life that support me enough to make it happen,” Brennise said.
