Every year at Tarleton State University, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) hosts ‘Hope for the Holidays’ to support local families through the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Tarleton chapter of SHRM is a part of the national organization of the same name, the world’s largest human resource membership organization devoted to human resource management.

The Ronald McDonald House is a charity for families with sick children, and works toward “keeping families together to help kids heal and cope better,” according to the organization’s website.

The Society of Human Resource Management aims to “spread the word and collect as many goods as possible to help lessen the burden for families who have children in the hospital,” according the their webpage.

SHRM has placed Christmas wrapped boxes in the business building, nursing building, Dick Smith Library, and the Barry B. Thompson Student Center for students, faculty and staff to put donations into. The biggest needed donations are non-perishables such as canned goods as well as personal care items.

The boxes will be out for donations between Oct. 10 and Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. All donations will go to the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth.
